James Lowater

James (Jim) Lowater, 71, of Dimmitt, passed away on April 24, 2010 in Dimmitt. Funeral Services will be held in the Abundant Life Family Church at 10:30 AM, Wednesday in Dimmitt with Pastor Tom Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.
James (Jim) Lowater was born in Phoenix to Chief and Nellie Lowater. He met and married Helen Jacobs of Muleshoe, TX. They moved to Friona where he worked as a farmer for over 40 years. He moved his family to Dimmitt and continued to work in Friona. He was well liked and loved by all who met him.
He is survived by his spouse, Helen Lowater of Dimmitt, 5 daughters, Helen Saenz, Carol Lowater, Samantha Lowater and Cristal Lowater, all of Dimmitt, TX, and Patricia Lowater of Broken Arrow, OK, 4 sons, Donald Lowater of Amarillo, Ronnie Lowater, Terry Lowater, and Dean Lowater all of Broken Arrow, OK, 1 brother, Leo Lowater of Broken Arrow, OK, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 5 sisters.
