Margie (Acker) Pettus, 85, of Amarillo, formerly of Dimmitt, passed away on May 13, 2010 in Amarillo, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:30 AM Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Ken Keller and Deacon Jerome Brockman officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Vigil Services will be held on Sunday at 5:30 PM in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.
Margie was born on Dec. 17, 1924 in Texhoma to William Hubert and Flora Wright . She grew up in Texas and graduated from Dumas High School. She was a longtime resident of Castro County and a homemaker all of her life. She married Ed Pettus on March 19, 1989 and resided in Amarillo. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth and she enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her spouse, Ed Pettus of Amarillo, 3 sons, Keith Acker and wife Brenda of Dimmitt, Harold Acker and wife Debra of Hereford, and Dan Crowley and wife Terry of Peach Springs, AZ, 2 daughters Karen McSpadden of Amarillo, and Danelle Crowley of Canyon Lake, TX, 2 sisters, Lucille Dabney of Amarillo, and Betty Martin of Holly, CO, 1 brother, Gene Wright of Arlington, TX. 10 Grandchildren and 9 Great grandchildren. 4 stepsons, Mark, Matt, Tim, and Jeremy Pettus all of Florida.
