Dent Bradley, 89, of Dimmitt passed away Friday, March 16, 2012 in Dimmitt. Funeral Services will be Monday, March 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt with Steve Friskup and Rev. Clint Young officiating with burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Dent was born July 14, 1922 in Olustee, OK. to Gordon and Dixie Bradley. Dent came to the Sunnyside Flagg community in a covered wagon when he was three years old. He married Bessie Mae (Doll) Boothe on September 1, 1939 in Plainview, Texas. Dent has farmed and raised cattle in Castro County his entire life. He raised American Quarter Horses and is a lifetime member of the AQHA. He served two years of active military service in Korea.
Dent is survived by his wife of 73 years, Bessie Mae Bradley, two sons, Gene Bradley and wife Shari, Ray Bradley and wife A’llan all of Dimmitt; one daughter, Kay Magee and her husband Joe of McLean, one brother, Harold of West Fork, Arkansas, two sisters, Ana Dee Gibbs of Dimmitt and Emma Lou Hastings of Fruita, CO. Dent and Bessie were blessed with 13 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one son, David Bradley of Clayton, N.M., and two brothers Weldon Bradley of Dimmitt and Keith Bradley of West Fork, Arkansas.
