Biography

Daisy Langford, 79, of Dimmitt passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt with the Rev. Derrel Evins officiating at 10:00 AM, burial to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Dimmitt. Family visitation will be Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Daisy was born August 5, 1932 in Plainview, Texas to Joseph and Ruby Hatch. She graduated from Plainview High School. She married Marshall Langford on June 8, 1951 in Plainview. Daisy has been a resident of Dimmitt since 1958. She was a teacher’s aide at Richardson Elementary School in Dimmitt for 30 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dimmitt, she taught Sunday School Class for the kindergarten age for many years, and was part of the Weslyn Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She was a member of Retired Teachers Association and the Easter Star. She enjoyed reading and was an avid Texas Ranger Baseball Fan, but most of all she loved taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Marshall “Corky” Langford of Dimmitt; four sons, Gary Langford and his wife Linda of Mt. Pleasant; Larry Langford of Wichita, KS; Paul Langford and his wife Cindy of Marshall, Michigan and Karl Langford and his wife Liz of Lubbock. Three brothers, Joe Hatch and his wife Betty of Chandler; Harley Hatch and his wife Mary and Howard Hatch and his wife Leta all of Plainview; three sisters, Julia Hollis and her husband Richard of Clarendon, Edith Sims, and Edna Heflin and her husband Rob all of Plainview.
Eight grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jimmy Hatch and two sisters, Ruby Nell Hatch and Marie Collins.
