Eulalia E. Balderas, 85, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 in Anton, Texas. Prayer Vigil will be recited at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt, Texas with Reverend Joseph Ravi, officiant. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Garden, arrangements provided by Colonial Funeral Home.
Eulalia Escalera was born on February 12, 1927 in Charlotte, Texas to Rafael G. Escalera and Agapita Santos Escalera. She married Carlos Balderas, Sr. in 1953 in Poteet, Texas, he preceded her in death in 1980. Eulalia was raised in Stanton, California, before moving to San Antonio, Texas and then moving to Dimmitt, Texas in 1955. She enjoyed making tamales, playing Mexican Bingo, gardening and raised chickens. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Cursillistas.
