Biography

Lois Waggoner, 90, of Dimmitt passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 in Tulia. Funeral services will be Friday, September 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Lee Street Baptist Church of Dimmitt with Rev. Jeff Addison officiating, burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be Thursday evening from6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Lois was born September 28, 1921 in Akin, Texas to Shedrick N. and Rebecha Gill Ewing. She has been a resident of Castro County since 1933. She married E.R. Waggoner on August 10, 1940 in Clovis, N.M. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, Baptist Womenís Missionary Union; Hospital Auxiliary; she was a Charter member of Lee Street Baptist; she served as church secretary, church hostís , she worked with the Girls Auxiliary through the church, she also worked in the church nursery for several years. She volunteered at the Rose Garden. Her hobbies included; sewing, crocheting, painting by number and working puzzles. She has spent her last seven years living with her daughters in Tulia and Edmond, Oklahoma.
She is survived by two daughters; Earnestine Turner of Tulia and Zelma Mathis and her husband Brent of Edmond, Oklahoma. Eight grandchildren; LaQuita Gardner of Dalhart, Dean Turner of Tulia, Jeremy Mathis of Chattanooga, OK., Brandon Mathis of Edmond, OK., Wesley Turner of Dalhart, Keisha Serna of Tulia, Rebecca Mireles of Lubbock and Rhonda Mixson of Midland.
21 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, E.R. Waggoner and 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
