Alma Nelson, 95, of Dimmitt passed away, Friday, January 4, 2013 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ Church at 2:00PM with Mr. James Jones officiating, burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 -7:00 PM. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Alma was born September 1, 1917 in Lexington, Oklahoma to James Douglas and Elzora Bates Brock. She grew up and attended school in a community near McLean, Texas. She graduated from McLean High School. She married Woodrow Nelson on December 20, 1936. She was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Fourth and Bedford Church of Christ of Dimmitt. She enjoyed her church and her family. She is survived by her two sons, Donny Nelson and wife Wanda of Dimmitt and Ronny Nelson and wife Ruth of Arlington; 7 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. One sister-in-law, Leola Durant of Pearland, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Nelson, 4 sisters, 3 brothers, 1 grandson, Roy Nelson and 3 great grandchildren.
