Altagracia Arce, 82, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Dimmitt, Texas, departed into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, in Joliet, Illinois, surrounded by her loved ones. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Ramon Molina and Deacon Paul Herrera as officiates. Burial will follow at Castro Memorial Gardens in Dimmitt. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. A viewing will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with a Vigil beginning at 5:30 P.M., officiated by Deacon Richard Martinez.

Altagracia was born on September 30, 1940, in Tepechitlan, Zacatecas, Mexico to Angel Correa and Silveria (Gonzalez) Correa. Altagracia married Cruz Arce in Mexico in August 1956 and moved to Dimmitt in January 1965. She worked as a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her husband, children, home, and garden. Altagracia greatly enjoyed attending church and was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she served as a member of Las Guadalupanas and a Eucharist Minister. She also loved gardening, dancing, listening to music, and playing bingo with her good friends at church, and she was passionate about baking and cooking.

Alta was full of life, loving, outgoing, witty, and friendly. She always prayed for her family and loved seeing them every chance she got. She will be dearly missed.

Altagracia was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and husband, Cruz Arce.

She is survived by her six children, Saul Arce and his wife Elisa of Dimmitt, Texas, Javier Arce and his wife Janie of Amarillo, Texas, Hilda Alaniz and her husband Armando of Amarillo, Texas, Maricela Rivas and her husband Everardo of Plainfield, Illinois, Cruz Arce, Jr. and his wife Silvia of Joliet, Illinois, and Armando Arce and his wife Rosalinda of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Angel Correa of Mexico and Gomercindo Correa of Lubbock, Texas; sixteen grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren.
