Amelia Cruz Martinez, 84, of Dimmitt passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Church of God of the First Born in Dimmitt with Pastor Fernando Fernandez and Pastor Jessie Ramirez officiating burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home in Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Monday from 4:00-6:00PM at the funeral home. Amelia was born September 12, 1931 in Carrizo Springs, to Pablo and Juanita (Flores) Cruz. Amelia has been a resident of Dimmitt since 1968. She enjoyed crocheting, caring for animals, cooking, working in her yard, sewing and basically anything that had to do with working with her hands. She is survived by her fourteen children; Genaro Fernandez and wife Stella of Lawrence, Kansas, Sam Fernandez of Dimmitt, Eva Solis of Mathis, Angie Barrandey and husband Raymond of Midland, Fernando Fernandez and wife Gloria of Amarillo, Susie Fernandez Stanton of Amarillo, Lena Keeth of Tulia, Paul Fernandez and wife Pansy of Wesbrook, George Fernandez and wife Delores of Houston, Armando Fernandez and wife Marisol of Dimmitt, Arnulfo Fernandez and wife Sonya of Racine, Wisconsin, Albert Fernandez and wife Alicia of Hart, Gilbert Fernandez of San Angelo and Linda McCartney of Abilene. Five sisters and one brother; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren She is preceded in death by her husband Martin Martinez
