Andres Montes, beloved father and grandfather, passed away on June 10, 2021, in Lubbock, TX at the age of 89 surrounded by his loved ones.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 10:00AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon Severo Alvarado, Deacon John Nino and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery where he will be laid to rest by his loving wife Cristina. Funeral arrangements are under the care and supervision of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00PM on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the funeral Home.

Andres was born to Jose and Petra Montes in Jimenez, Chihuahua, on November 30, 1931. Andres migrated to Texas in the late 50's as part of the Brazero program. He resided in Dimmitt, TX for 55 yrs. where he and his wife Cristina raised their seven children. He worked from sun up to sun down to provide for his family. Education was a priority and he was able to see all his children succeed with their careers. He modeled a high work ethic and great respect toward others. He had a great love for God's land and worked on a farm until his retirement. He loved working with tractors, farm animals, planting vegetable gardens, watching rodeos and just creating homemade projects. He relocated to Lubbock, TX to be cared for by family after his beloved wife of 63 yrs, Cristina, passed away in 2017.

Andres is survived by his only son, Danny (Donna), daughters Elsa Valdez, Eva Abrego, and Carolina Montes of Lubbock, Patty (Jerry) Ogas of El Paso, Lupe Quinonez of Amarillo, and Chole (Sal) Ortiz of Dimmitt, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren whom will eternally remember their "buelito." He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Cristina, sons in law Tino Quinonez and Jaime Valdez, and his seven brothers and one sister.
