Anna D. Gibbs, 98, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, in Dimmitt.  Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 2:00PM at the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ with King Burney officiating.  Burial will follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the funeral home.

Anna D. Gibbs was born on July 10, 1924, to Gordon A. Bradley and Dixie (Dent) Bradley in Olustee, Oklahoma.   She moved to Sunnyside, Texas and attended Dimmitt schools, but later moved to Melrose, New Mexico where she graduated from Melrose High School.  Anna D. met Al Gibbs, and they were married on January 31, 1944, in Melrose, New Mexico.  They were married for 78 wonderful years.  Her and Al later moved back to Dimmitt in 1961 and she worked for Dimmitt Consumers as their bookkeeper.  She then later went to work for the Co-op Gin until her retirement.  She was a longtime member of the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school.

Anna D. enjoyed sewing and was a great seamstress.  She and her family also enjoyed riding dirt bikes in the mountains of New Mexico.  Her and Al were part of what was known as the Geritol Group.  This was a group of senior individuals who rode motorcycles to different communities to have dinner and then ride back to Dimmitt.  They also loved to travel while pulling their 36 ft. fifth wheel travel trailer where they went on many trips to the mountains.  Anna D. was a huge dominoes player and spent many hours with friends and family playing dominoes.

Anna D. is survived by her husband Al Gibbs of Dimmitt, and her 2 daughters, Ginger Scarborough of Dimmitt, and Linda Gross of Amarillo, 3 grandsons, Troy Gross and wife Paula of Dumas, Greg Gross of Spearman, and Jason Gross and wife Sara of Amarillo, 7 great-grandchildren, John Gross, Jeff Gross, Cameron Gross, Connor Gross, Kyson Gross, Keagan Compton, and Kaitlyn Compton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, along with 4 brothers, Weldon Bradley, Keith Bradley, Dent Bradley, Harold Bradley and 1 sister Emma Lou Hastings.
