Antonio H. Rodriguez, 75, of Dimmitt passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012 in Dimmitt. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Thursday, in the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Ravi officiating. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited at 6:00PM on Wednesday at the church with vigil service following. Antonio was born on April 21, 1937 in San Felipe, Durango Mexico to Gabino and Josefa Rodriguez. He married Rufina Corrales on September 12, 1955 in Nombre De Dios, Durango Mexico. They moved to the Flagg area in 1979 from Praxedis G. Guerrero, Chihuahua Mexico and then moved to Dimmitt in 1981. He worked for Corn Savers from 1979-1981 and for the late J.D. Parker and Wayne Proffitt with Dimmitt Welding from 1981-1992 and then Cluck Feed Yard from 1992-2006 when he retired. He was a member of Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church. As a young man he enjoyed cliff diving in Mexico, he played the bass guitar in a local band, he sponsored a local baseball team for 3 years (Blue Jays), and loved and pitched in the semi - pro baseball league in Mexico and was active in the Diabetic Run in Dimmitt. He was involved in the Matachines Dance Group with the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Rufina Rodriguez of Dimmitt, 4 sons, Jose Antonio Rodriguez of Mexico, Vicente Rodriguez of Dimmitt, Francisco Rodriguez and Jorge Rodriguez both of San Antonio, 4 daughters, Hortencia Martinez, Maria Apolonia Hernandez both of San Antonio, Tila Castro and Mariza Rodriguez both of Dimmitt,7 brothers, Guillermo of Mexico, Isidro Rodriguez and Modesto Rodriguez both of Olton, Juan Rodriguez of Plainview, Jaime Rodriguez of Hart, Rumaldo Rodriguez of Springlake, and Margarito Rodriguez of Plainview, 4 sisters, Eulalia Rodriguez of Dimmitt, Magdalena Ramirez of Plainview, Maria Luisa Chairez of Dumas, and Sabina Flores of Edmondson, 1 uncle, Miguel Rodriguez of Mexico, 20 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gabino and Josefa Rodriguez, 2 sisters, Felipe Rodriguez and Paula Alanis.
