Astrid R. Perez, 49, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Friday, November 22, 2019 in Dimmitt.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at 11:00AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants.  Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 6:00PM in the church.

Astrid Rocio (Leal) Perez was born on September 23, 1970 in Bogota, Colombia to Carlos Leal and Cecilia (Rojas) Leal.  Astrid grew up in Bogota, Colombia then graduated from the National University of Colombia.  She moved to the United States in 2000 and then graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master's degree in music.  Astrid started teaching school for the Dimmitt Independent School District in 2004.  She married Robert Perez in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Astrid enjoyed playing and teaching piano, writing, swimming, skating, watching her two boys participate in school activities but most of all her passion was teaching her children and her students.  She will be dearly missed and loved by all.

Astrid is survived by her spouse, Robert Perez of Dimmitt, 2 sons, Juan Pablo Perez and Luis Gabriel Perez both of Dimmitt, parents, Carlos Leal and Cecilia (Rojas) Leal of Bogota, Colombia, brother, Juan Carlos Leal and wife Alma of Panama, sisters, Angela Leal and husband Manuel of Germany, Ingrid Leal and husband Fabian of Australia and Esther Leal and husband (Alexander) of Houston.
