Betty Brooks Armstrong, 80, of Ruiodoso, Mew Mexico, formerly of Hart, TX passed away on July 6, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM. Graveside Services will be held on Monday at 10:30AM in Hart Cemetery in Hart, TX. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, TX. Family Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home. Betty was born on October 26, 1930 in Plainview, TX to Robert and Jewell Brooks. She was born into the Matslers and Brooks family who were pioneers of Plainview. She married Deward Armstrong in 1948 and graduated Hart High School in 1949. She lived in Texico and Clovis in the early 60's and has resided in Ruidoso, NM since 1982. She is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Autrey and husband Emmitt of Carrizozo, NM and Cynthia Chumley and husband Butch of Joshua, TX, 2 sons Terry Armstrong and wife Georgia of Grants, NM and Kent Armstrong and wife Joyce of Lubbock, TX, 1 brother Bob Brooks and wife Nell of Amarillo, 2 sister-in-laws, Mozelle Lilley of Dimmitt and Jo Mason of Wildorado, TX, 1 cousin Patsy York and husband Kyle of Spring Hill, TN, 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Deward Armstrong, 1 brother Ernest Lee Brooks, and 1 grandson Brent Chumley. Memorials may be sent to Susan G.
