Bill Behrends, 87, of Odessa, Texas, formerly of Dimmitt, Texas passed away, Saturday, March 31, 2018 in Odessa, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday April 9, 2018 in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor T.C. Broom officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home.
Bill was born January 21, 1931 to Andrew Lincoln Behrends and Helen (Story) Behrends in Hereford, Texas. Bill married Jo Taylor Behrends in Sunnyside, Texas on August 31, 1958. Bill served in the United States Navy. He started the 1st Staffing Group in 1995 in Odessa and worked up until his recent sickness. Bill was a very active member of the Rotary Club and was past president, he was elected "Citizen of the Year" in Dimmitt in 1976, he was very active in the Dimmitt Chamber of Commerce and served as President and also very active in the Boys Scouts of America for our area.
He is survived by one son Rich Behrends of Odessa, TX, two brothers, Andrew Behrends of San Antonio, TX and David Behrends and wife Jane of Dimmitt, TX and one sister, Mary Curl of Granbury, TX.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jo Taylor Behrends and one son, William Dean Behrends.
