A Celebration of Life for Bob Baker lovingly called Pop by the grandchildren, will be held at the 4th & Bedford Church of Christ, Dimmitt, Texas at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2022. Leroy Maxwell will deliver the eulogy. Bob was born Bobby Jack Baker March 7, 1931 in the community of Bluitt, NM to Thelma and Barney Baker. Bob was one of the happiest people you ever had an opportunity to share time with and be around. He had a "this old boy" story for every occasion. They mostly ended with a good belly laugh and his infectious smile. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church in Dimmitt for many years. He also enjoyed attending services at the Church of Christ in Dimmitt with daughter and son-in-law Rhenea and Gary. He loved to sing in the choir, and he was especially fond of the Old Gospel Hymns. They would bring a tear to his eye. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma and Barney Baker, in-laws Carl and Ruthie Burrows, his wife of 68 years, Joy Burrows Baker, sister Betty Wossum, baby brother, Ray Dale Baker, son-in-law Gary Webb , sister-in-law Elgevia Burrows, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Francis and BJ Bonham, and brother-in-law Vernon Burrows. Survivors include his son Bobby and wife Cindy of Kingwood, daughter Rhenea Webb of Dimmitt, granddaughter, Amy Baker Shipp (Anthony) of Kingwood, Kurt Webb of Dallas, Kylie Webb Lyons (Eric) of Oklahoma City, great grandchildren, James Baker (Sarah) of Lewisville, TX, Tristan Shipp and Brennan Shipp of Kingwood, Joah Lyons and Coen Lyons of Oklahoma City, sister Nell Edlin of Lubbock, special daughter Cathi Freeman and husband, Brad of Springlake, grandchildren Chanda Haberer, Erin Polk, and April Janse van Rensburg and their families, brothers-in-law Forest Joe Burrows (Willie), Jerry Burrows (Katy), Geary Burrows (Mary) and numerous nieces and nephews.
