Bobby Dodd, 83, formerly of Dimmitt, passed away on February 11, 2012 in Guymon, Oklahoma. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00PM in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Derrel Evins officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Family visitation will be held from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at the funeral home. Bobby was born in Dimmitt on February 3, 1929 to James Mancel and Mayme Evelyn Birdwell. Bobby grew up in Dimmitt and attended Dimmitt schools. On march 15, 1946 she married Harlin Dodd in Dimmittt, Texas. She worked as a grocery clerk for Dimmitt Thriftway for many years and also worked as the manager for the Buchanan and Gold Bond Stamp Stores. Bobby moved to Dunaway Manor in Guymon, Oklahoma in August 2011 and was dearly loved by the staff and she was called "Ms. Bobby" by all who came her way. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Dimmitt She is survived by 3 daughters, Jerry Rhodes of Burleson, TX, Darlene Stanton of Frisco, TX and Billie Ballard and husband Ronnie of Guymon, Oklahoma, 1, brother, Kent Birdwell and wife Mary Jo of Dimmitt, 11 grandchildren, Rodney and Paige Rhodes, Randy and Sara Rhodes, both of Burleson, TX, Debbie and Brian TenCate of The Colony, TX, Shawn St. Vrain of Denver, CO, Kim Branaman of Ruidoso, NM, Susan and Keith Rogers of Groverton, TX, Ronnie and Kathy Ballard of Brookville, MO, Heath and Kathy Maddox of Maxwell, Nebraska, Britch and Erica Maddox of Guymon, OK, Justin and Bobbie Ballard of Enid, OK and Jay Maddox of Newalla, OK, 18 great-grandchildren, Andrew and Allison Rhodes, Heather and Alex Rhodes all from Burleson, TX, Cannon Carducci of Friscoe, TX, Jordyn St. Vrain of Denver, CO, Kevin Williams of Kilgore, TX, Amber and Michael Svoboda of Fairfield, TX, Blain Ballard of Norfolk, Virginia, Brandon and Erin Ballard of Unionville, MO, Blair Ballard of Kirksville, MO, Paxton Maddox of Stillwater, OK, Kaitlynn and Payton Maddox of Guymon, OK, Jonathon Maddox of Amarillo, TX, Bailey Maddox of Maxwell, Nebraska, and Rylie and Chloe Ballard of Enid, OK, 4 great-great grandchildren, Trinity and Kara Williams of Kilgore, TX, Gracelyn Svoboda of Fairfield, TX and Wyatt Ballard of Norfolk, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harvey Harlin Dodd, her brother Bill Birdwell, and a son-in-law, Sandy Rhodes.
