Carl Dean Kleman's Obituary
Carl Dean Kleman, 89, of Nazareth, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Nazareth. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11:00AM in the Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Bhaskar Adusupalli, Deacon Bob Birkenfeld, Deacon Joe Hochstein and Deacon Jackie Gunnels as celebrants. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the church.
Carl Dean Kleman was born on June 11, 1929 in Nazareth, Texas to Arthur Kleman and Loretta (Wagner) Kleman. He graduated from Nazareth High School then he served in the United States Army from 1951 – 1953. During that time he married Mary (Ball) Kleman on June 24, 1952 in Nazareth. Carl Dean owned and operated Carl's Grocery for 12 years then became an insurance agent for 30 years before retiring in 2004. Carl Dean served on the parish council for Holy Family Catholic Church, served on the Nazareth School Board, served as city commissioner and was the 1st fire chief for the Nazareth Volunteer Fire Department in 1961. After his retirement he worked numerous different jobs within the community. He enjoyed playing golf, riding his golf cart throughout the community, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Carl Dean is survived by his spouse, Mary Kleman of Nazareth, children, Bobbie Schmucker, Mona Brockman and husband Dale, Doyle Kleman and wife Rosie, Karleen Hoelting and husband Keith all of Nazareth and Gerry Kleman and wife Joyce of Abernathy, 2 sisters, Leola Ramaekers of Nazareth and Agnes Schilling of Dimmitt, 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Carl Dean is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Kleman and Loretta (Wagner) Kleman, grandson, Shane Kleman, son-in-law, Jim Schmucker along with 6 brothers, Elmer, Bernard, Urban, LaVerne, Alphonse and Harold.
