Carmen "Nana" Camacho de Herrera, 66, of Dimmitt passed away Monday August 3, 2015, in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be Friday, August 7, 2015 at 4th and Bedford Church of Christ in Dimmitt at 10:00 AM with Mr. Pedro Gonzalez officiating, burial to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Prayer services will be Thursday 6:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Carmen was born July 16, 1949 in Juarez, Mexico to Miguel and Sofia Camacho. She was the oldest of 10 children and raised all of her siblings. She married Miguel Herrera November 21, 1968 in Ascension Chihuahua, Mexico. She was a resident of Dimmitt, Texas since 1977 where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Iglesia de Cristo. She loved church, she was a hard worker, brave, strong and very faithful to all, and she is also known to have a big heart. She was a wonderful cook and she cooked for all her family and all of her children's friends. She was a very happy person and loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She taught herself to read and write and was a great role model for her family. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband Miguel Herrera of Dimmitt, TX 1 son Roberto Herrera Camacho and wife Shelley of Amherst, TX. And 2 daughters: Beatrice Martinez and husband Tino of Amarillo, TX and Oralia Herrera of Amarillo, TX. 4 brothers Raul Camacho of Dimmitt, TX, Candelario Camacho of Mexico, Luis Angel Camacho of Mexico, Roberto Camacho of Mexico and 4 sisters; Manuela Camacho of El Paso, TX, Maria Isabel Quiroz of Dimmitt, TX, Letica Alfaro of Tornio, TX and Olivia Camacho of Mexico. 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother Miguel Angel Camacho.
