Carolyn Ann Hays, 73, of Dimmitt passed away at home in Dimmitt, Texas on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jonathan Sullivan officiating, burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.

Carolyn was born October 15, 1942 in Hereford, Texas to Earl and Rosa Mae Lance. She grew up in Hereford and it was there where she met David in 1959. She married David Hays on November 23, 1963 in Summerfield. She was a homemaker while raising their two children and then worked for Seale Florist in Dimmitt for many years before retiring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt. Carolyn was an incredible woman, friend, wife and mother who loved her family fiercely. Her hobbies were her home, but her greatest above all was her husband, her children and grandson.

She is survived by her husband, David Hays of Dimmitt, a son Scott Hays and his wife Allison of Ft. Worth and a daughter, Dondi Hays of Dimmitt; one brother, R.E. Lance, Jr. of Hereford and one grandson, Hayden Hays of Ft. Worth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, C.J. Lance, Paul Lance, Jerry Lance, Billie Herrington and Rosene Dawson
