Charles Raymond "Mr. K." Ketchum, 74, of Dimmitt. Passed away. Tuesday, July 26, 2016 in Dimmitt. Memorial services will be Friday at 10:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church with Coby Gilbreath officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00PM at the funeral home.

Charles was born in Anton, Texas to John and Evaleen Ketchum on December 21, 1941. He graduated from Frenship High School in Lubbock Texas, then attended South Plains College for three years, later graduating from Texas Tech University with a major in English and a minor in Journalism and finally receiving his Masters in Food and Nutrition. In June of 1967, he married his best friend for life, Anna Holloway and shortly thereafter they had their one and only daughter, Darla LeeAnn Ketchum. Charles was employed with Saga Foods of Lubbock doing "College Feeding" which entailed organizing college's in their food service department. His job required him and his family to travel all over the countryside of Texas and many other states. He was a world traveler. He later moved to Dimmitt and was the Food Service Director for the Dimmitt Independent School District, he has been employed with them for 23 years.  Mr. K had a golden heart, he was not a judge mental man and he was a man of tremendous faith. Mr. K's hobbies were playing the organ and piano, painting; pen, ink and acrylic, but more than anything he loved his Golden Lab dogs, Leo and Dino.

He is survived by his best friend and rock for life, Anna Ketchum of Lubbock, one brother, John Ketchum of Albuquerque, N.M. and three sisters, Ruth Sullivan of Illinois, Dixie Jennings of Clovis, CA., and Linda Sneed of Houston; two of his favorite Golden Lab pets, Leo and Dino and numerous nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Darla LeeAnn Ketchum in 1985, one brother, Pinkney Ketchum, and six sisters, Gene Henderson, Margaret Hester, Ruby McNeely, Dorothy Clark, Charlotte Cross and Winnie Greene.
