Clyde Harold Damron, Sr. 89, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away Friday, March 3, 2017 in Dimmitt. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. He was born August 29, 1927 in Olton, Texas to Clyde T. and Fay (Stephens) Damron.

Clyde joined the Navy during WWII at the age of 16 where he served two years. He used the GI bill to attend West Texas State University to obtain his Bachelors and his Masters in Education. He married Bobbie Sue (Langley) Damron August 27, 1950. Clyde taught school in Lazbuddie, Esteline, and Dimmitt, he later farmed in Castro County and served as a Castro County Commissioner.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; Clyde T. and Fay (Stephens) Damron, wife; Bobbie (Langley) Damron, brother; Douglas Damron, and a sister; Lucille McCoy.

He is survived by his children; Jeanne Damron Carpenter and husband Jay of Austin, Texas, Clyde H. Damron and wife Judy of Dimmitt, Texas,   and Mary Damron of Austin, Texas, two grandchildren; Justin Damron and wife Maggie of Dimmitt, Texas, Tracy Damron Rodriquez and husband, Paul of Amarillo, Texas, and three great grandchildren; Brooklyn and Grayson Rodriquez and Audrey Damron.
