Cruz Arce, 82, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 in Amarillo, Texas.  Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, at Colonial Funeral Home with Mass of Christian Burial being held on Wednesday at 2:00P.M. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Raj Arockia and Deacon John Nino officiating.  Burial will be held in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Cruz was born on September 15, 1934 in Mexico to Encarnacion Arce and Juanita (Castillo) Arce.  Cruz has lived in the Dimmitt community since 1954.  He married Altagracia (Correa) Arce in 1956.  Cruz worked for Cluck Farms as a cowboy and horse trainer from 1954-1977.  He then went to work for Watts Farms and later Hyman Feed yard before his retirement.  Cruz was a workaholic always loved working around animals and tending to the horses and cattle.  He also enjoyed music and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Cruz is survived by his spouse, Altagracia Arce of Dimmitt, 6 children, Saul Arce and wife Elisa of Dimmitt, Javier Arce and wife Janie of Amarillo, Hilda Alaniz and husband Armando of Amarillo, Maricela Rivas and husband Everardo of Plainfield, IL., Cruz Arce, Jr and wife Silvia of Joliet, IL., and Armando Arce and wife Rosalinda of Amarillo, 2 siblings, Josefa Arce of Plainfield, IL., and Rosa Maria Torres Arce, of Chicago, IL, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Cruz was preceded in death by his parents and 5 siblings.
