Damasio Barron Sr., 72, of Dimmit, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019 in Dimmitt.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 2:00PM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants.  Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.  Rosary will be recited on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 6:00PM with vigil service following in the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.

Damasio Barron Sr. was born on December 11, 1946 in Lytle, Texas to Pasquel Barron and Victoria (Moreno) Barron.  On June 17, 1967 Damasio married Maria Carolina Martinez in Dimmitt, Texas.  He was a crew leader in carpentry before becoming an operator at American Fructose.  He enjoyed watching old western shows, Andy Griffith and the Golden Girls.  He enjoyed camping, fishing, making jokes, telling stories from his childhood, tending to family dogs, listening to tejano and country music.  Above all his greatest pleasure in life was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Damasio was always an admirable family man.  He gave all this love to his wife, five children and spouses, 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, his brothers and their families along with countless nieces and nephews.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Carolina Barron of Dimmitt, Texas, 4 daughters, Christina Barron and husband Ernest Terry of Amarillo, Texas, Linda Martinez and husband Ruben of Dimmitt, Texas, Stella Barron of Dimmitt, Texas and Jennifer Espinosa of Amarillo, Texas, 1 son, Damasio Barron Jr. and wife April of Amarillo, Texas, 2 brothers, Andres Barron and wife Maria of Levelland, Texas and Leonardo Barron of Florida, 20 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Damasio is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 1 sister, 1grandson and 2 great-grandchildren.
