David Conrad Schulte, 82, of Nazareth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, in Dimmitt, Texas.  A Rosary/Vigil service will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church with celebrants Rev. Arokiaraj "Raj" Samala, Deacons Bob Birkenfeld and Joe Hochstein. Burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas.

David was born and raised in Nazareth, TX. He joined the reserves shortly after high school. He proudly served on the American Legion for years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and parish council for Holy Family Church in Nazareth.

David had an adventurous life filled with many different jobs, but the ones that held his true passion were farming and driving trucks.

He had a sense of humor and a grin to match. He always loved a good joke – saving legion magazines with jokes on last page to share and enjoy a laugh.

He loved watching westerns – especially Gunsmoke.

David shared his love of driving with his granddaughters when they were little. The golf cart, Fairlane in the parade, and 4-wheeler that he might have taken a little fast over a hill and catching some air.

He spent a lot of time finding different ways to love, and some might say spoil Michayla and Camille. From horse rides on Lone Star, to bottle feeding calves and checking for "hot wire", to the cookies and ice cream that he always had on hand - David cherished one of the last chapters in his role as being Grandpa.

He is survived by his daughter Michelle and husband Rex Acker of Canyon and his grandchildren Michayla Acker of Amarillo and Camille Acker of Santa Fe, NM.

Also survived by siblings Clarice Acker and her husband, Tom, Bea Acker and her husband, Francis and sister-in law Beth Schulte-Harder. David was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Odelia, a brother, Lester Schulte and sister Judy Brockman and her husband Phil Brockman.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Nazareth Fire Department or Country View Living in Dimmitt for their amazing care over the last few years of Davids life.
