Dean Kirby, 65, of Dimmitt passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 in Amarillo. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00PM in the First Baptist Church in Dimmitt with Coby Gilbreath and Todd McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home. Dean was born on February 21, 1947 in Dimmitt, TX to Vade and Aline Summers Kirby. He grew up and attended school in Dimmitt. He married Belinda Hartley on February 9, 1974 in Hereford. Dean owned and operated Dimmitt Ready Mix a family business that has been in Dimmitt for several generations. He was very involved in his children's livestock and stock showing. He enjoyed hunting deer and liked to build and fix several different things. Since 1984, Dean had been a sponsor for AAA. Dean is survived by his spouse, Belinda Kirby of Dimmitt, his father, Vade Kirby and wife Marie of Dimmitt, 3 sons, Ronald Kirby and wife Sandi, Dennis Kirby and wife Denise of Lubbock, and Ky Kirby and wife Karon of Dimmitt, 1 daughter, Asia Birkenfeld and husband Leroy of Nazareth, 1 brother, Anthony Kirby and wife Kathy of Dimmitt, 2 sisters, Mary Mays and husband Anthoney of Dimmitt and Vada Wilcox and husband Rick of Dimmitt, 12 grandchildren, Josh Kirby, Dustin Kirby, Jayden Kirby, Kellen Kirby, Kylar Birkenfeld, Abbyegale Birkenfeld, Emmarae Birkenfeld, Traven Birkenfeld, Jordyn Kirby, Brityn Kirby, Shelbi Kirby, and Keagyn Kirby, numerous nieces and nephews.
