Dee Brisco, daughter of Henry Means Timmons and Ethel (Ewing) Timmons, was born in Dimmitt, Texas on October 26, 1940, and departed this life October 16, 2022, in Dimmitt, Texas, at the age of eight-one years.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt at 10:30AM with Dr. Jonathan Sullivan and her sons Brad Yates and Kyle Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the funeral home.
Dee Brisco was raised at an early age in Killeen, Texas where she attended elementary and junior high school and then graduated from Dimmitt High School. Dee married Robert Yates on November 27, 1957, up until August 10, 1973, due to his passing. She later married Bill Brisco on December 21, 1979, in Arlington, Texas and then they moved back to Dimmitt in March of 1991. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt where she served on the kitchen committee and was a past member of the Rebekah's (International Association of Rebekah Assemblies - IARA) which are to strive to bring happiness to others and to promote "Peace on earth and goodwill to men." Dee enjoyed crocheting and loved all kinds of sports but especially basketball. Bill and Dee loved spending time with their great friends Bay and Bobbie Baldridge watching the Dimmitt Bobcats and Bobbies. But most of all she loved being with her family and grandchildren.
Dee is survived by her four sons, Brad Yates and wife Melinda of Texarkana, TX, Rick Yates and wife Sandy of Russellville, KY, Kyle Yates and wife Kelley of Burleson, TX and Kip Yates and girlfriend, Shannon Staats of Wichita Falls, TX along with 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Means Timmons, and Ethel Almeda (Ewing) Timmons, her first husband, Robert Yates and second husband, Bill Brisco, stepfather, Claude Westfall, two sisters, Francis Timmons and Ann Cook and three brothers, Jim Timmons, Bill Timmons and Ted Timmons.
