Diana Ruiz Rivera, 60, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 10:00AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Arockiaraj Malapady, Deacon John Niño and Deacon Richard Martinez as celebrants. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direct care of Colonial Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 6:00PM with vigil service to immediately follow at the funeral home.
Diana Ruiz Rivera was born on April 7, 1959 to Leon Ruiz and Manuela (Zamora) Ruiz in Dimmitt, Texas. She grew up in Springlake-Earth and graduated high school. She worked for the Dimmitt Independent School District for 20 plus years in the cafeteria and was assistant manager the last five years all while being a housewife and raising a family. Diana married Jose Rivera on December 1, 1996 in Dimmitt. She enjoyed playing lottery tickets, playing bingo and shopping, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and spreading her love to everyone.
Diana is survived by her spouse, Jose Rivera of Dimmitt, TX, children, Eric Ruiz and wife Angie of Odessa, TX, Michelle Olivas and husband Arturo of Dimmitt, TX, Destiny Rodriguez of Dimmitt, TX, and Preston Rodriguez of Amarillo, TX, 1 brother, Jesse Ruiz and wife Patty of Glendale, AZ, 5 sisters, Elva Ruiz, Janie Gomez and husband Frank, Celia Gonzalez and husband Lalo all of Dimmitt, TX, Blanca Martha and husband Sergio of Lazbuddie, TX and Ofelia Madrigal of Earth, TX, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Diana is preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Olga Ruiz and 7 brothers.
