Donald Leon Scarborough, 73, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 in Dimmitt, Texas.  Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 2:00PM in the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ with Wayne Proffitt officiating.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Donald Leon Scarborough was born on August 9, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas to J.S. Scarborough and Naomi (Young) Scarborough.  He grew up in Plainview and moved to Dimmitt in 1959.  He served in the United States Army from 1967 – 1968 while serving one year in Tuy Hoa, Vietnam during the TCT Offensive.  He served as crew chief on V01 Mohawk.  He married Ginger Gibbs on March 17, 1979 and farmed with his dad in the Easter community before working for the Cargill Plant for many years until his retirement in 2003. Donald enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting guns, going to the mountains and visiting Lincoln County, New Mexico.

Donald is survived by his wife, Ginger Scarborough of Dimmitt, sisters, Ann Ho-Gland and husband Bill and Carolyn McDonald all of Amarillo, nieces and nephews, Renea Ho-Gland Taylor and husband Robert of Ft. Worth, Dustin Ho-Gland and wife Kate of Canyon, Jerry McDonald and wife Becky of Colorado Springs, Lauri McDonald of Amarillo, Troy Gross and wife Paula of Dumas, Greg Gross of Spearman and Jason Gross and wife Sara of Amarillo along with a host of grand nieces and nephews, cousins and many loving friends.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Naomi Scarborough, his grandparents, aunts and uncles and many cousins.
