Doyle Davis, 84, of Hart, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 in Hart. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 2:00PM in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Faucett officiating. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at the funeral home. Doyle was born on December 29, 1930 in Hart, Texas to T.R. Davis and Cora Philips Davis. Davis grew up in Hart and graduated from Hart High School in 1949. On March 4, 1950 Doyle married June Rice in Clovis, New Mexico. Doyle farmed and owned Davis Aerial. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Hart. He enjoyed collecting antique cars and tractors and was a member of West Texas Car Club. Doyle was an avid fan of the Lady Raiders, but most of all Doyle loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. Doyle is survived by his wife, June Davis of Hart, daughter, Debbie Emery and husband Ted of Bentonville, Arkansas, 2 sisters, Helen Sweatt of Odessa, TX, and Peggy Clay of Olmstead, NM, 3 grandchildren, Coby Emery and wife Rhanda of Floydada, TX, Clint Emery and wife Leslianne of Lubbock, TX, and John Emery of Fairbanks, Alaska, 4 great-grandchildren, Drake Emery, Cole Emery, Slade Emery and Brackston Emery. Doyle is preceded in death by his son, Phil Davis and a brother, Bob Davis. The family has suggested memorials be made to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, PO Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas, 79174-0001
