Duward F. Davis, 77, of Dimmitt passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be Monday, February 15, 2016 at the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ in Dimmitt at 10:00 AM with Mr. James Jones officiating and burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family and friend visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00-4:00PM at the funeral home.

Duward was born July 22, 1938 in Lockney, Texas to Cyrus Allen and Augusta Maye Davis. He graduated from Kress High School in 1956. He married Joyce Bagley on August 4, 1957 in Kress. He and Joyce moved to Tulia and lived there for ten years where all three children were born. They later moved to Dimmitt in 1969 making Dimmitt their home. Duward started as a mechanic, then a shop foreman later becoming the service manager and in the end was the sales manager at the local Ford Dealerships in Dimmitt for twenty-five years and until their closing. Shortly thereafter, Duward became employed at the local Ford and Chevrolet Dealerships in Hereford until his retirement in 2004. During his retirement he owned and operated Dimmitt Auto Sales until his illness would no longer allow him to work. Duward was a member of the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ in Dimmitt, a member of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the VOQ "Victims of Quilters". He enjoyed camping, collecting barb wire, wood working and anything automotive related, it gave Duward joy to do for others but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Kelly Davis and his wife RexAnne of Weatherford, a daughter Lisa Mixson and her husband Terry of Dimmitt; a brother Clifford Davis and his wife Becky of Plainview; four granddaughters Meagan Gantzler and husband Jeff; Makenzie Cottingham and her husband Marshall; Callen Buckley and Amy Davis; Five great grandchildren Joel and Paige Gantzler, Hudson and Hagen Buckley and Maddox Cottingham.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce Davis, a son Don Allen Davis, a brother Eugene Davis and a grandson-in-law Deacon Buckley.
