Edwin Huseman, 84, a long-time resident of Nazareth and Dumas, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth with Fr. Arokiaraj "Raj" Samala, Deacon Bob Birkenfeld, and Deacon Joe Hochstein as celebrants. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Rosary/Vigil services are scheduled for Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth.

Edwin was born in Nazareth on January 9, 1940, to Leo and Alphonsa (Schmucker) Huseman. He attended school in Nazareth and was a 1958 Nazareth High School graduate. Edwin married Irene Venhaus on July 28, 1964, in Nazareth at the Holy Family Catholic Church.

Edwin was a hardworking, faithful, gentle man who loved helping people. He worked many years in maintenance, re-modeling, and carpentry using his gifts in several different places and businesses throughout the years until self-employment. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything he was asked.  Edwin was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Nazareth Lions Club, and Dumas Friends in Christ. His Catholic faith was extremely important to him as he joined in prayer and study with groups from both parishes.

Edwin and Irene enjoyed their time together playing in adult sports leagues which included volleyball, bowling, softball, and baseball. Edwin enjoyed playing card games with friends and family, and a hand or two for money with the kids and grandkids anytime they were together. He was known as a shrewd "Solo" player.  He also liked spending time outside landscaping, gardening, and fishing, and many hours following his beloved LA Dodgers and Rams.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his wife Irene Huseman of Amarillo, Texas; children, Kent Huseman (Claudia) of Arlington, Texas, Troy Huseman (Kelli) of Mineral Wells, Texas, Renee Huseman of Canyon, Texas, and Chad Huseman (Terri) of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren, Shawn, Heath, Kenzi, Brady, Carson, Maddie, Julian, Caroline, Elizabeth, and Victoria; sister Dolly Schulte of Nazareth; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alphonsa Huseman, daughter-in-law Michele Huseman, siblings Arnold Huseman (Catherine), Elmer Huseman (Norma), Florene Schulte (Elmer), Hilda Birkenfeld (Eddie), Viola Kleman (Alphonse), and brother-in-law Gilbert Schulte.
