Obituary

Efrain G. Salazar, 66, of Hart, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, surrounded by his family in Hart. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at St. John Nepomucente Catholic Church in Hart, with Deacon Richard Martinez officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas.

Efrain was born on February 29, 1960, in Mexico to Dulces and Paula (Garcia) Salazar. A longtime resident of Hart, Texas, he met and married the love of his life, Janie Gasco, there in 1978. Together, they built a beautiful life and family. Efrain spent his adult life working in the gin industry throughout the surrounding communities. He enjoyed tending his yard and listening to music. A simple man who loved his family deeply, Efrain will be remembered for his presence, his smile, and his quiet nature.

Those left to cherish his memory include: Wife: Janie Salazar of Hart, Texas Children: Irma Rojas and her husband, Sergio, of Dimmitt, Texas; Efrain Salazar and his wife, Patricia, of Maryland; and Norma Salazar of Hart, Texas Grandchildren: Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren Siblings: Arnold Salazar and his wife, Virginia, of San Angelo, Texas; Dulces Salazar of San Angelo, Texas; Rudolfo Salazar of Lubbock, Texas; Jamie Salazar of San Angelo, Texas; Rosario Salazar of San Angelo, Texas; Ninfa Moreno and her husband, Joe, of Portales, New Mexico; and Lala Velasquez and her husband, Rudy, of San Angelo, Texas

Preceded in Death Efrain was preceded in death by his parents, Dulces and Paula Salazar, and his sister, Gracie Lopez.
