Elaine Herring, 76, of Cedar Creek, Texas passed away on January 12, 2018 in Cedar Creek, Texas.  Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:30PM in the First Baptist Church of Springlake, Texas with Pastor Rob Norris officiating.  Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.  The family will receive friends from 5:00PM – 7:00PM on Friday evening at the funeral home.

Elaine Herring was born on March 24, 1941 in Springlake, Texas to Furche Riley and Etta Mae (Sanders) Riley.  Elaine married Jimmy Herring on November 23, 1957.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springlake and was a faithful member.  She enjoyed playing bridge with longtime friends and always had a smile on her face but most of all she enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family.

Elaine is survived by 2 daughters, Sharla Parker of Austin and Stephanie Cavazos and husband Joey of Cedar Creek, 1 sister, Marilyn Higgins of Amarillo, 4 grandchildren, Chase Cavazos of Cedar Creek, Magen Cavazos of Corpus Christi, Clayton Parker of Austin and Riley Bertram of Ft. Campbell, TN, 9 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Charlene Riley.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Furche and Etta Mae Riley, spouse, Jimmy Herring, 1 sister, Eleanor Haberer and 1 brother, Robert Furche Riley.
