Elsie Faye Black August 19th, 1940 - February 16th, 2014 Elsie Faye Black, 73, of Hart passed from this world at 4:52 p.m. on February 16th, 2014 at the Lubbock Heart Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Heaven just received another angel of the highest magnitude. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2:00PM in the First Baptist Church of Hart with Rev. Kenny Lydick officiating. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family visitation will be from 5:00PM - 7:00PM on Wednesday at the funeral home. She is survived by her husband, of 56 years, Jim Black. A son, Glen Black and wife Kylene of Hereford, TX, and a daughter, Janet Reed and husband Jim of Kearney, MO, Six Grandchildren, Heather White, Jake Reed, Corrie Hon, Johnna Reed, Joshua Reed, and Erin Black, Four Great Grandchildren, Gracie White, Brant White, Madeline Reed, and Jake Reed Jr. She is also survived by one sister, Linda Griffith and husband Ronnie of Hereford, TX. Elsie led a very full and active life. She was the Secretary of the Hart School District for 27 years. During this time she touched the lives of many people, and was so well thought of by everyone she came into contact with. This was represented in all of the honors that were bestowed upon her over the years. She was a member of the Texas Educational Secretaries Association of Austin, a member of Area Secretaries Association, Chapter Mom of the Future Homemakers of America for 7 years, a member of the Longhorn and Lady Longhorns Booster club, supporting all of the sports teams, band, Future Farmers of America, and the Student Council. She was also a member and office holder of Chi Psi and Xi Mu sororities of Beta Sigma Phil. She was a member of the Baptist church of Hart, TX. She was a Sunday school teacher, Cub Scout Mom and G.A. mother. Here greatest accomplishments were the way she touched the lives of everyone she came into contact with. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She cannot be replaced on this earth, but Heaven now has one of the finest most caring individuals that ever lived.
