Elvira Marquez, 82, of Dimmitt passed away, Thursday, May 29, 2014 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt at 2:00 PM with Pastor Salvador Carrasco officiating. Prayer service will be Friday evening at 6:00PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Elvira was born October 19, 1931 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Guadalupe and Rosaura Garcia Granados. Elvira has been a resident of Dimmitt for 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a homemaker all of her life. She is survived by her children; Hector "Joel" Marquez, Ismael Marquez, Patricia Torres and Blanca Nino all of Dimmitt. 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren She is preceded in death by her husband, Hector Marquez, one daughter Minerva Chaparro and 2 brothers.
