Elvis Arnold Barker, 86, of Dimmitt, TX, died Sunday, January 31, 2016 in Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home, Family Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Jonathan Sullivan, officiant. Interment will be held at 4:00 PM in Erick Cemetery in Erick, Oklahoma.

Elvis was born November 10, 1929 in Erick, Oklahoma to Jess and Ida Mae (Hughes) Barker. He married Joy Lamm on June 10, 1950 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Elvis worked for Phillips Petroleum in Borger, TX, and in 1964 he moved and went to work at Good Pasture in Dimmitt, TX, where he worked for almost 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dimmitt, TX. His hobbies included: gardening, raising cats, especially his "Tomboy" and other animals, he loved older cars, he would repair and then resale them, watching the Dallas Cowboys, he was a loving husband and father, by nature he was calm and quiet with a gentle spirit, and he had a sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Ida Mae Barker, 2 brothers: Lloyd Barker and Rayford Barker, a sister: Gladys Underhill, and half siblings: Kate, "Sister", Bitty, Marie and George.

2 Daughters: Sharon Barker of Lubbock, TX, Pam Crookham and husband, James of Katy, TX

1 Sister: Ola Mae Coop of Erick, OK

4 Grandchildren: Chris Crookham and wife, Becky, Jason Crookham, Jennifer McCulley and husband, James, Jonathan Crookham

2 Great Grandchildren: Sam Crookham and Elliott  Crookham
