Erminia B. Tijerina, 94, a longtime resident of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020 in Dimmitt. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020 in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastors Francisco Paiz and Trinidad Paiz III officiating. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 from 5:00PM – 8:00PM at the funeral home. Local arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Due to the COVID-19, we are mandated by the state and local authorities to limit the amount of people to 25% of our occupancy level at the funeral home. Erminia Tijerina was born on March 6, 1926 in Poteet, Texas to Miguel Balderas and Andrea (Uribes) Balderas. Erminia was a longtime resident of Dimmitt, Texas. She married Teodoro Tijerina on January 19, 1945 and they owned Estrellita Dance Hall for many years. She was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Erminia will be most remembered by her love for cooking for her family and being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memories are her 3 sons, Rogelio Tijerina and wife Crystal of Leeds, UT, Raul Tijerina of Oklahoma, and Diego Garza and wife Petra of Pearsall, TX, 6 daughters, Angelita Paiz of Bay City, TX, Beatris Torres and husband Miguel of Dacula, GA, Carmen Casas and husband Ruben of Bremond, TX, Virginia Alonso and husband Aurelio of Amarillo, TX, Elsa Garcia and husband Jesse of Dimmitt, TX and Andrea Amaya and husband Alfredo of Denton, TX, 1 brother, Felix Balderas of Dimmitt, TX and 1 sister, Corina Tijerina of Hereford, TX, 41 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.
Erminia is preceded in death by her husband, Teodoro Tijerina and 2 grandsons, Raul Hinojosa Jr, and Edward Gonzales.
