Esperanza Soto Gomez, 62, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023, in Mexico. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt at 10:30 AM with Celebrant David Contreras and Deacons John Nino and Richard Martinez. Burial to follow at Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Visitation will be on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 3:00 PM -7:00 PM with rosary at 5:30 PM at the funeral home.

Esperanza was born on May 31, 1961, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Isac Gomez and Josefina Gonzalez. She has been a resident of Dimmitt, Texas, for 35 years. Esperanza was employed for 15 years at Plains Memorial Hospital in Dimmitt. She married Manuel Soto, Sr. in 1983, and together they built a beautiful life and family. He passed away in 2012. Esperanza attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dimmitt; she loved planting flowers, especially rose bushes, and her favorite flowers, geraniums. Esperanza was known for her homemade tortillas and empanadas; she loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed going to garage sales and to the casinos, but her favorite pastime of all was spending quality time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, LuLu Alanis and her husband Tomas, Sulema Soto and her husband Juan Morales, Manuel Soto, Jr., and his wife Elizabeth all of Dimmitt, Texas, Judy Soto and her husband Manuel Martinez of Hereford, Texas, and Marisol Soto of Dimmitt, Texas. Her siblings, Adelina Marquez and her husband Jesus of California, Manuel Gomez and his wife Irma Gutirrez, Samuel Gomez and his wife Amelia Ponce, Margarita Alvidrez and her husband Beto, Beto Gomez and his wife Luz Elena, and Delia Gomez and her husband Ventura Rodriguez all of Mexico; her mother Josefina Gonzalez of Mexico, her partner Nivardo Chapparo of Dimmitt, Texas. 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Esperanza is preceded in death by her father, Isac Gomez Morales, her husband Manuel Soto, Sr., and her daughter Guadalupe Soto.

Sus hermanos, Adelina Márquez y su esposo Jesús de California, Manuel Gómez y su esposa Irma Gutiérrez, Samuel Gómez y su esposa Amelia Ponce, Margarita Alvidrez y su esposo Beto, Beto Gómez y su esposa Luz Elena, y Delia Gómez y su esposo Ventura Rodríguez todos de México; su madre Josefina González de México, su pareja Nivardo Chapparo de Dimmitt, Texas. 14 nietos y 5 bisnietos.

Esperanza es precedida en la muerte por su padre, Isac Gómez Morales, su esposo Manuel Soto, Sr., y su hija Guadalupe Soto.
