Esther Merle Evans Boozer, 101, of Dimmitt passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 in Dimmitt. Esther was born June 19, 1912 in Franklin County, Arkansas to Zed and Bert Evans. Her family came to this country in 1696, they landed in Philadelphia and purchased land. She and her family moved to the Jumbo Community in 1951. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dimmitt, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Alamo; Eastern Star and the Senior Citizens of Hereford. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting and she loved telling stories to the staff at the nursing home. She is survived by two sons; Monty Boozer and his wife Sue of Dimmitt and Glen Boozer and his wife Tillie of Las Vegas, N.M. 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband Ewing Smith and her 2nd husband H.M. Joe Boozer; 2 daughters, Oleda Raper and Ed'Dena Byler; 5 brothers Edward, Alton, Sam, Dick and Tinkum Evans and 1 sister AnnaLee Evans.
