Ethel Oleta (Jeri) Bailey, 86, of Lubbock, TX formerly of Hart, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in Lubbock. Memorial service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 1:00PM in the First United Methodist Church in Hart with the Rev. Perry Hunsaker of Amarillo and Rev. Joe Selix of Ottumwa, Iowa and Rev. Wilbur Ormand of Hart officiating. Memorial Services are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Jeri was born on April 17, 1925 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Walter and Goldie Winningham. She met and married the love of her life, Joe Bailey, on January 23, 1945 in Galesburg, Illinois. Joe and Jeri moved to Hart in 1958 where she owned and operated J&J Variety and later, Movie Time. They retired and moved to Cocoa, Florida in 2001 and moved back to Texas in January 2009. Jeri was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Hart. Jeri is survived by four daughters, Connie Stallings and the late Johnny Ed of Cocoa, Florida, Linda Sharp and husband Ken of Lubbock, Debbie Winfrey and husband Ted of Denver City, and Dee Anna Ledbetter and husband Terry of Pampa. Jeri was also blessed with nine granddaughters, two grandsons, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by three sisters Darlene, Polly, and Vickie along with many loving nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Jeri is preceded in death by her husband Joe Bailey in 2009 and one son, Jackie DeWayne who died at birth.
