Eusebia Balderas, 87, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in Dimmitt.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Ken Keller, Monsignor Arturo Meza, and Rev. Raj Arockia as celebrants.  Graveside service will be in Assumption Chapel Mausoleum and Cemetery at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday in Austin, Texas.  Rosary will be recited on Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with Vigil service to follow at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. The family will be gathering at 715 W. Stinson, Dimmitt, Texas.

Eusebia Balderas was born on October 29, 1929 in Maxwell, Texas to Fernando and Julia (Garcia) Vasquez.  She married Feliciano Balderas in May of 1955 in Brownfield.  She has been a resident of Dimmitt since 1960 and worked in the cafeteria for the Dimmitt Independent School District for 24 years.  Eusebia visited the elderly in the nursing home and the ones that were home bound.  She sang in her husband's choir, volunteered with the DISD and was a member of the Castro County Extension.  Eusebia was a member for 57 years at the Immaculate Conception of Mary Catholic Church and she participated in every and any activity within the church while being very dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe. She prayed the rosary daily and also prayed for the priest of her congregation and surrounding area.  She was a Cursillista, a Servidores de Cristo, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Guadalupanas, a member of the Legion of Mary; she was involved with her prayer group at church and a Lector of the church.  She loved cooking, sewing, working in the garden with her roses, reading her bible and watching and feeding the birds. Eusebia picked cotton in her younger years and loved competing on who could pick the most and she always came out the winner, picking 1000lbs of cotton a day.  But most importantly after being so involved within her church and the community she always loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Eusebia is survived by her husband, Feliciano Balderas of Dimmitt, 5 children, Elsa Nevarez and husband Joe of Amarillo, George Ulloa and wife Sylvia of Buda, Felix Balderas and wife Susy of Amarillo, RoseAnn Gonzalez and husband Rafael of Amarillo, and Diane Snitker and husband Glen of Dimmitt, 2 brothers, Catarino Vasquez of Houston, Pancho Vasquez of Lockhart, 2 sisters Julia Mendez and Herminia Perez and husband Raul both of Lockhart, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons, Rudy Ulloa and Henry Ulloa and 7 brothers and sisters.
