Evelyn Helen (Stork) Hill (Mimi) of Seminole, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth, Texas, at 11:00 AM with Celebrant Father Balaswamy Polisetti and Deacons Bob Birkenfield and Joe Hochstein. Burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth, Texas. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Rosary will be on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 6:30 PM at the church.

Evelyn was born on December 5, 1934, in Hereford, Texas, to John and Meta (Wagner) Stork. She was one of seven girls and one boy. She loved her time growing up on the farm. They worked hard and loved just as hard. They were a singing family, and they all loved to dance, which she passed on to her children! She graduated from Nazareth High School in 1953. She married Floyd Acker in 1954 and lost him to cancer 6 months later. They had one daughter together, Floyce Lynn Acker, who died a year after her birth. Evelyn then married Bill Hill of Hart, Texas, in 1956. They had 5 children together, Dean, Terry, Kent, Tammye and Brad.Evelyn took great pride in caring for her husband, children, and her home. She was also very active in the Catholic Church in Hart and Nazareth and eventually in Lubbock at Christ The King Catholic Church. She and Bill divorced in 1976. Evelyn then moved to Lubbock, Texas, where she finished raising her children. She worked at Caprock Savings and Loan in Lubbock for many years before retiring. In her later years, she babysat for many families in Lubbock. She loved children and loved her time spent with them. She loved to travel and was always proud to have visited all 50 states of the United States. She played bridge for years with her most beloved friends, Charlie and Ramona Prater, Ted and Ethel Averitt, Ramzi and Gunilla Botros, and Jo Bass. Evelyn loved to cook. She would spend hours making everyone's favorite dishes when her children and grandchildren came to visit. She would always have a variety of desserts to share as well. Evelyn loved gardening and had a beautiful yard full of flowers, and some passed down from her mother. Evelyn was also a big Texas Tech Red Raider fan. She had season tickets to the Lady Raiders Basketball games during the Marsh Sharp era. Evelyn was a joyful person, always smiling and laughing. She was a friend to all, and she loved her family deeply. Her big Nazareth family was everything to her. It was where she always felt at home.

We would like to say a special thank you to Interim Hospice of Brownfield for the wonderful care Evelyn received, especially Evelyn's favorite nurse, Nettie Adams. She was there whenever we needed her. She could always put a smile on Mom's face. And to Evelyn's most precious caregiver, Emma Frier, there are not enough words to express our gratitude for your love, care, and devotion to our mother. You loved her like your own mother, and she loved you so much. You will always be family to us. We are blessed with the best for our mom.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Terry and Belinda Hill of Keller, Texas, Tammye and Curt Summers of Seminole, Texas, and Brad Hill of Paris, Texas. Two sisters, Pill Heiman of Nazareth, Texas, and Jean Bell of Chama, New Mexico. Grandchildren, Lance Couch and Kelly of Greenville, Texas, Beau Hill and Jamie of Frisco, Texas, Christi McCasland and Kevin of Olton, Texas, BJ Hill and Sadra of Stephenville, Texas, Kevin Couch and Ashley of Seagraves, Texas, Lexi Weir and Devin of Sanger, Texas, Blaine Hill of Paris, Texas, Isabella Hill of Paris, Texas, Chase Summers of Lubbock, Texas, and Kaitlyn Summers of Lubbock, Texas. Great grandchildren, Lilly, Wyatt, Ellie, Tatum, Byron, Wade, Hayden, Olivia, Liam, Hayden, and Kayleigh.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Meta Stork, brother Cliford Stork, and sisters Florene Leinen, Virgie Gerber, Dorothy Pohlmeier and Viola Pohlmeier. Also, her daughter Floyce Lynn Acker and her sons Dean Hill and Kent Hill.
