Faye Smith, 82, of Hart, passed away on April 15, 2011 at the Running Water Draw Care Center in Olton after a long battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 2:30 PM in the First Baptist Church of Hart with Rev. Matt Baird officiating. Burial will follow in Hart Cemetery. Family Visitation will be held on Saturday at Colonial Funeral Home from 6:00PM - 8:00 PM. Faye was born on February 14, 1929 to Elsie and Virgil T. Ellis in Peacock, TX. She was married to Harold D. Smith on June 30, 1946 in Wheeler, TX. They resided in Hart since 1954. She was a tough lady. She was an avid bowler for 45 years and attended and placed in national and state tournaments and was a member of the 6oo Club. Faye was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hart since 1954 and also a member of the church choir for over 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Harold D. Smith of Hart, 2 sons, David Smith and wife Patricia of Hart, and Danny Smith and wife Becky of Olton, 1 daughter, Patti Vines and husband Randy of Lubbock, 2 brothers, Joe Ellis of Lubbock and Earl Ellis of Prague, OK, 1 sister, Dee Sarah of Amarillo, 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Dennis Smith, 2 brothers and 2 sisters and the aunt that raised Faye, Grace Ritchie.
