Francisco Mendoza 80, of Dimmitt passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Dimmitt. A prayer vigil and rosary will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home with Deacon John Nino officiating. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M.  Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dimmitt with Reverend Raj Arockia, Celebrant. Burial to follow in Castro Memorial Gardens. Services are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.

Francisco was born May 10, 1936 in Mexico to Leonardo and Josefina (Caballero) Mendoza.  He married Lucia Tapia in 1960 in Lubbock. He was a self-employed truck driver and had also been a farm hand. He loved flowers, gardening, working with tools to fix cars, he enjoyed visiting with friends at Stripes, loved to dance, listen to music and going to Auctions. He was member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Leonardo and Josefina Mendoza, his wife: Lucia T. Mendoza,a daughter: Margarita Mendoza and 2 brothers: Froilan Mendoza and Samuel Mendoza.

He is survived by 2 sons: Frank Mendoza, Jr. and wife Jamie of Earth, TX, Ignacio Mendoza and wife Lorraine of Dimmitt, TX, 2 daughters: Elidia Dozal and husband Mario of Dimmitt, Angie Arguijo and husband Josh of Hereford, 2 sisters: Modesta Yanez Mendoza of Lubbock and Guadalupe Retiz of Mexico, 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
