Frank Everett Dowty, 82, of Dimmitt, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, in the VA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, surrounded by family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM before the service.

Frank Everett Dowty was born in Dimmitt, Texas, on July 31, 1943, to parents James Louis Dowty and Martha Blanche (Finney) Dowty. He was raised in Dimmitt and graduated from Dimmitt High School. He served in the United States Navy for eight years.

Frank worked as an electrician in Amarillo and has maintained his license. He spent several years with Boweing in Seattle, Washington, before returning home to Dimmitt. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Those left to cherish his memories are his two sisters, Clara Harp of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Delle Moore of Dimmitt, Texas, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-greats.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Louis Dowty; three brothers, David, Jim, and Ed Dowty; and two sisters, Ann Heck and Nell Henley.
