Gary Crum, 64, of Dimmitt, Texas passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Dimmitt. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00AM in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. T.C. Broom officiating. Burial will follow in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Family visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the funeral home. Gary was born on June 27, 1950 in Dimmitt, Texas to James C. and Virginia Luker Crum. He was the great-grandson of a pioneer rancher, James L. Crum who settled in Castro County in 1898. Gary graduated from Dimmitt High School and West Texas State University. At the time of his death, he was a Haz-Mat driver for Poole Chemical of Texline. TX. He was previously employed by Budweiser Distributing, Prax-Air and Amarillo Helium. Gary was a lifelong resident of Dimmitt and an avid Dallas Cowboy and 49er's fan. He loved music and played drums and sang in several bands. He had a collection of over 700 pristine vinyl rock and roll albums and was not totally impress with C.D's. He enjoyed cooking out with family and friends. He married Pat Saenz on September 6, 1997 in Dimmitt. Gary was a hardworking, kind and gentle person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was devoted to his wife and family and will be truly be missed by those who knew him. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith Crum. Survivors include his wife, Pat; a brother Gail Crum and wife Peggy of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Maria Guadalupe Robinson of Amarillo; four brothers-in-law, Jessie Saenz, Marcelo Saenz, and Sesario Saenz Jr., all of Dimmitt and Elisandro Saenz of Amarillo; three sisters-in-law, Virgin Gritzman of Chicago, Lucia Vargas and Elizabeth Soto, both of Amarillo; his mother-in-law, Eva Saenz of Dimmitt; four grandchildren, Danika, Devon, Louis and Rayce and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
