Gilbert C. Schulte, 82, of Nazareth, Texas passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 in Lubbock. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth with Rev. Ken Keller officiating burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Rosary will be Monday at 4:30 PM at the Holy Family Catholic Church and vigil to be at 7:00PM. Arrangements are being handled by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Gilbert was born August 10, 1932 in Nazareth, Texas to Albert and Anna Schulte. He was an army veteran during the Korean War 1952-1954. He married Dolores Huseman on January 16, 1956. He was a farmer and rancher in Nazareth. He was a member of the American Legion and served as commander and a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth. His hobbies were horse racing, golf, fishing, traveling and having fun and knee-slapping laughter. He is survived by his wife Dolores (Dolly) Schulte of Nazareth, 3 sons Dwayne Schulte and wife Jolene, Rodney Schulte and wife Mona all of Nazareth and Calvin Schulte of Canyon; 3 daughters Elaine Barnes and husband Joe of Plainview, Rosie Kleman and husband Doyle and Karen Gerber and husband Dan all of Nazareth; 2 brothers Floyd Schulte and his wife Dorothy of Nazareth and Ralph Schulte and his wife Beth of Roanoke; 4 sisters Norita Hoelting and husband Cecil, Toby Gerber and husband Vincent, Joan Durbin and husband Paul all of Nazareth and Carol Hoelting and husband Marvin of Westminster. 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Marvin Schulte and a grandson Shane Kleman.
