Glenn Ramaekers' Obituary
Glenn Ramaekers, 63, of Nazareth passed away Friday, June 1, 2018 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth with celebrants Rev. Bhaskar Adusupalli, Rev. Nick Gerber and Deacon Bob Birkenfeld with burial following at Holy Family Cemetery in Nazareth. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas. Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 5:00 PM at the church.
Glenn Ramaekers was born July 31, 1954 in Tulia, Texas to Edward and Leola (Kleman) Ramaekers. Glenn graduated from Nazareth High School. He married Janis Whitlow on July 10, 1976 and together they had four beautiful daughters. Glenn owned and operated a trucking company named Canyon Creek Feeds then later became a longtime farmer. Glenn was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Nazareth and St. Ann's Catholic Church of Canyon, he worked with the youth in many ministries, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, worked on several building committees for Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Ann's Catholic Church, he served on the Parish Council and was involved with ACTS; Glenn was very involved with his family, his church and his community. He loved the Nazareth Swifts and was a big fan of the Oklahoma State University Cowboys. Glenn loved his faith, family, and his most cherished grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Leola Ramaekers of Nazareth, four daughters, Jaime Conrad and husband Brett of Canyon, Kristin Farco and husband Robert, Britni Vanderveer and husband Austin all of Ft. Worth and Jaci Gerth and husband Marc of Keller; three brothers, Rex Ramaekers and wife Vera of Nazareth, Larry Ramaekers and wife Tammy of Canyon and Brian Ramaekers and wife Peggy of Nazareth; five sisters, Mary Beth Gerber and husband Joel of Nazareth, Naomi Valdez and husband Joe of Dalhart, Doretta Gerber and husband Kenny of Pampa, Vera Huseman and husband Derwin of Nazareth and Marla Gales and husband Shawn of Canyon; 10 grandchildren, Kynlee Conrad, Berkli Conrad, Brodie Farco, Braxton Farco, Brennan Farco, Brooklyn Farco, Anslie Vanderveer, Ashton Vanderveer, Maci Gerth and one on the way, Luke Gerth, brothers-in-law, Nick Weinheimer of Groom and Jim Whitlow of Hereford.
Glenn is preceded in death by his father, Edward Ramaekers, sister, Renee Weinheimer and nephew, Blake Weinheimer.
