Gregg Nelson, 57, of Dimmitt, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023.
Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 1:30PM at the Fourth & Bedford Church of Christ with King Burney officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt.
Gregg Nelson was born on July 27, 1965, to Edd "Corky" and Virginia Nelson in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1983. He began farming in early high school at Guymon, Oklahoma, with his Dad and Papaw, Clarence Nelson. Gregg always loved working the land and farmed much of his life in Guymon, Dimmitt, Hardesty, KS, and Amarillo, TX. Gregg also drove a truck for his Father, Corky, for nine years.
Gregg was truly a kind soul and would willingly give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He had such a special relationship with Papaw and Mamaw Nelson. They are surely celebrating his homecoming with him.
Gregg is survived by his father, Corky Nelson of Dimmitt; niece, Kamryn Steffens and her daughter, Shylee Brown of Amarillo, TX; niece, Geena Steffens of Dodge City, Kansas; niece, Carsyn and her husband, Ricky Robinson and their children, Caiden and Kyah. Aunts, Earlene Myatt, Hazel Nelson, and Sharon Nelson. Several cousins, who loved how Gregg always brought entertainment to family gathering.
Preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Nelson; sister, Dione Steffens; aunt, Shirley Kent; uncles, Dan Nelson, Jim Nelson, and JH Myatt; cousin, Barry Nelson.
